Special Events make everyone Happy! Here you will find a list of upcoming pet related events in the Colorado area. Colorado and Denver area pet events are the main focus of this page. This list of events is by no means complete. If you know of a pet event that should be added please email me by clicking here. Even though this list is mostly made up of dog events I will also be posting cat events as well as any events I can find related to any and all other pets.

Saturday, May 1st

Furry Scurry

9am. Washington Park, Denver. Grab your pooch, 'cause it's time for the annual Furry Scurry! Taking part in this awesome two-mile walk for animals in Wash Park at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 1, will benefit the Dumb Friends League.

This fundraiser helps the DFL care for more than 25,000 homeless pets every year, plus provide valuable services to the community.

Registration details:
Day-of registration will begin at 7 a.m.
Walk will commence at 9 a.m.

Event festivities:
- Enjoy refreshments and demonstrations before, during and after the walk.
- Shop the Flealess Market for pet-friendly merchandise and services offered by more than 100 vendors.
- Enter the Pet/Person Look-alike, Best Pet Kisser, Best Tail Wagger and Best Trick contests beginning at 9:45 a.m.

2nd Annual Rummage for Paws

8am-3pm both days. 4045 Lowell Blvd. Denver, CO 80211. This event is Colorado Service Dog's yearly sale of assorted items contributed by donors through out Colorado to help raise money for the organization.

Colorado Services Dogs, Inc. is an approved 501c3 non-profit organization that was established to train and provide rescued dogs to assist people who have disabilities in leading more independent lives at work, at home and at school. These dogs become an extension of their owners and bring security, freedom, independence and relief from social isolation to their human partners.

It would be wonderful to be able to increase the donated, sold and raised numbers each year.

MaxFund's 14th Annual Lucky Mutt Strut

9am. Washington Park, Denver. Fun-loving folks with or without their four-legged friends are welcome! Put your paws on the ground to walk or run in the two-mile race! This event is a major fundraiser for the Max Fund No-Kill Animal Shelter. Sally and I have volunteered at this event and have attended multiple times and we always have an awesome time supporting such a great cause.

Where: Washington Park
When: Sunday, May 30, 2010
Price: Adult $30 ($35 day of)
Children under 12 $25 ($30 day of)
Time: Check-In/Registration 7:30 - 8:45 a.m.
Runners - 9:00 a.m.
Walkers - 9:15 a.m.

Listen to live music while enjoying Rock Bottom Brewery burgers, veggie burgers and soda! All proceeds from the Rock Bottom picnic benefit MaxFund!!

MaxFund's 4th Annual Molly-Dharma Motorcycle Ride

9am. The Platte River Bar & Grill, 5995 South Santa Fe Drive, Littleton. A motorcycle ride to benefit MaxFund No-Kill Animal Shelter. Join Max Fund in these tough economic times, for a fun day supporting the MaxFund No-Kill Animal Shelter. MaxFund has been helping keep pets alive for over 22 years!

Where: Registration at the Platte, 5995 So. Santa Fe Drive, Littleton. Ride through the foothills and on to MaxFund. End with a Block Party at MaxFund, 1025 Galapago Street, Denver. Tours of MaxFund available (Adoptions/Donations Welcome!)

Price: $20 for single rider ($15 Pre-Reg) - $25 for two-up ($20 Pre-Reg)
